The Stone Clinic is a sports medicine clinic in San Francisco, California, offering orthopedic surgery and medical care, physical therapy and rehabilitation, and radiological imaging services. The Stone Clinic was founded by Kevin R. Stone, MD, an orthopedic surgeon, combining himself with a team of nurses, physical therapists, imaging specialists, and patient coordinators, in 1988 to focus on treating injured athletes and people with arthritic pain.
The Stone Clinic was founded on the goal to rehabilitate all patients to a higher level of operation than before they were injured. The Stone Clinic specializes in the treatment of sports and knee, shoulder, and ankle joint treatment. Stone has taught and is recognized internationally as an authority on the growth and replacement of cartilage and meniscus, and improvement. Stone and Stone Clinic was known for the development of surgical technique of pasta transplantation in 1991, combined with the meniscus replacement, which is a procedure of replacing the biological joints for knee joint regeneration. Surgical procedures are subjected to rigorous outcome analysis with results reported in peer review journals. Surgical techniques have been taught to surgeons in the US and around the world, through lectures and videos.
