Ronda Jean Rousey was born in Riverside, California on February 1, 1987, the youngest child of three daughters AnnMaria De Mars ( nÃÆ' à © e Waddell) and Ron Rousey, who became her name. His mother, a decorated judoka, was the first American to win the Judo World Championship (1984). Rousey is of British, Polish, Trinidadian, and Venezuelan descent. His mother's grandfather from Venezuela is part of Afro-Venezuelan descent and his great-grandfather from Trinidadian, Alfred E Waddell, is a doctor who emigrated to Canada and became one of the first black doctors in North America. His stepfather was an aerospace engineer. His biological father, after breaking his back with his daughters and learning that he would be paralyzed, committed suicide in 1995 when Rousey was eight years old. AnnMaria pursued her Ph.D. in educational psychology at the University of California, Riverside as his children grew up.
During the first six years of his life, Rousey struggled with speech and could not form a clear sentence because of apraxia, a speech impairment of neurological voice of childhood. This speech disorder is due to birth with a umbilical cord wrapped around his neck. When Rousey was three, his mother and father moved from Riverside, California, to Jamestown, North Dakota, for intensive speech therapy with specialists at Minot State University. Rousey dropped out of school and later received his GED. He grew up between Jamestown and Southern California, retired from his judo career at the age of 21 and began his MMA career at the age of 22 when he realized he did not want to spend his life in conventional work.

Olympic judo career
Rousey started judo with his mother at the age of 11. Rousey trained with her mother until she was 13 years after accidentally breaking her mother's wrist. At 17, Rousey qualified for the 2004 Olympics in Athens, becoming the youngest judoka in the entire Olympics. Rousey lost his first match with silver medalist Claudia Heill in a 63kg bracket. Also in 2004, Rousey won a gold medal at the World Junior Judo Championships in Budapest, Hungary.
In April 2006, he became the first US woman's judoka in nearly 10 years to win the A-Level tournament as she went 5-0 to claim gold at the Birmingham World Cup in England. Later that year, the 19-year-old won a bronze medal at the Junior World Championships, becoming the first US athlete to ever win two Junior World medals.
In February 2007, Rousey went up to 70 kg where he ranked as one of the top three women in the world. He won a silver medal at the World Judo Championships 2007 in the middle-class division and gold medal at Pan American Games 2007.

Rousey beat Annett Boehm by Yuko to win a bronze medal (note: judo offers two bronze medals per heavyweight). With victory, Rousey became the first American to win an Olympic medal in female judo from the start as an Olympic sport in 1992.
Mixed martial arts career
Training
Rousey retired from judo at 21 after the Olympics. After winning the Olympic medal, Rousey shares a studio apartment with roommates in Venice Beach, California and works three jobs as bartender and cocktail waiter to support herself and her dog.
When Ronda started studying judo, his mother took him to a judo club run by his old friends. Ronda went to the Hayastan MMA Academy run by Gokor Chivichyan, where he trained with fellow future MMA fighters Manny Gamburyan and Karo Parisyan. According to Rousey, Hayastan is practicing "a more fighting style of judo than a more technical Japanese style." Rousey is trained mostly with men who are bigger than him and often become frustrated and cry when he is thrown and can not throw someone. "Maybe from 2002 to 2005 I cried every night of training," Rousey said.
Rousey trained close to Gamburyan. After tearing his knees when he was 16 years old, Gamburyan volunteered to open the gym every afternoon and worked with him personally. Back in 2004, his teammates thought Rousey "would kill these girls" in MMA, but also thought he was "too pretty to be beaten on the face" and had to continue doing judo. While Gamburyan and Parisyan go to MMA, Rousey is stuck with judo but keeps in touch with MMA through them. The first MMA fight he was interested in was Manny Gamburyan versus Nate Diaz at The Ultimate Fighter finale. Rousey said he was never eager to watch judo or other sports. After the 2008 Olympics the following year, he decided to start MMA through the Hayastan Team.
Rousey also trained at Glendale Fighting Club, which he introduced through Gamburyan and other Hayastan colleagues. He started training under his current coach Edmond Tarverdyan at GFC. Tarverdyan is a former WBC Muay Thai National Champion.
He was trained at Jiu Jitsu at Dynamix MMA with Henry Akins from 2011 to 2014 and has since been practicing with Ryron Graice and Rener Gracie from Gracie Academy, as well as BJ Penn of Art of Jiu Jitsu.

Mixed fight martial style
In a 2012 interview before his first match with Miesha Tate, Ronda Rousey said, "When I do judo, my main advantage is my condition and my speed, I'm used to getting people out." He has taken the heart of the quote from Ryoko Tani to fight every five seconds as if it were the last five seconds of the game.
Judoka is decorated, Rousey usually bases the opponent with a throw and hip sweep, then try to finish with a strike or filing. From the top position, he usually strikes with a blow from the control side; in the back position, he often secures the ridge and attacks with a head attack. Rousey is not left-handed, but the left-handed judoka fights in an orthodox position as a striker.
Rousey's favorite MMA fighter is Fedor Emelianenko, whose fight style he imitates.
Rousey is famous for his skills in wrestling and is well known for his triumphal series with the armbar. Against a successful strike, such as Julia Budd and Sarah Kaufman, Rousey usually performs a fight and seeks a quick surrender. Only powerful grapplers, such as Miesha Tate and Liz Carmouche, are competing with Rousey on the ground.
During the initial fights in his MMA career, Rousey was primarily used strikingly to set judo. He became a striker who was more adept at following his UFC debut, leading to his first win by stalling. When standing, Rousey usually uses jabs, knees, and overhand rights. He also rarely stands on the side with a set of boxing positions, but more squares into the opponent, but still produces huge striking power, especially when they are near the fence, or dropping the opponent with his left hand to close the distance, while the opponent paralyzes with strikes, similar to muay thai fighters who launched a kick from the grasp.
When discussing his signature in an interview, Rousey notes that his judoka mother jumps every morning to wake him up with armbars.
Rousey is famous for introducing trash talking with MMA women. In many interviews, Rousey has used harsh language and openly underestimated his opponents' abilities, which he described as a way to generate more publicity for the sport.
View in MMA
Rousey has challenged the idea that MMA is anti-female. He argues, "There are so many stupid arguments that MMA is somehow anti-female, fighting is not a human thing, it's a human thing to say that it is anti-women is an anti-feminist statement." Some journalists have characterized Rousey as a feminist, while others have described it as "antifeminist".
Professional wrestling career

At WrestleMania March 31, 2015, they sit in the front row. During an in-ring argument between The Rock and Authority (Stephanie McMahon and Triple H), McMahon slaps the Stone and orders him to abandon his "ring". She taunted him, saying he would not hit a woman. He leaves, stops and runs into Rousey into a standing ovation. She then helps him into the ring and says that he'll be happy to hit McMahon for her. After a few minutes of staredown and more dialogue, Rock strikes Triple H. When he stumbles towards Rousey, he throws it out of the ring. McMahon tried to slap her, blocked and Rousey grabbed his arm, teased an arm bar, before throwing it out of the ring. Rousey and Rock celebrate in the ring, while the Authority withdraws with the implications of revenge. The segment is played and discussed throughout the next night Raw . The commentator fabricated a tweet that Rousey made earlier that day, in which he implied his comeback to WWE with "We just started...".
On July 13, 14, and 12 September 2017, the Horsewomen appeared in the audience of Mae Young Classic to support fellow Horsewoman Shayna Baszler, who participated in the tournament in her WWE debut. In addition, during the event, the four Horsewomen compete with Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch, and Bayley, who, at WWE along with Sasha Banks, also known as Four Horsewomen, hinted at possible future strife between the two groups..
Full-time contract (2018-present)
Rousey made a surprise appearance at Royal Rumble on January 28, 2018, facing Women's Raw Winner Alexa Bliss, Women's Smackdown Champion Charlotte Flair, and Asuka, who just won the inaugural Rumble Princess's inaugural match. ESPN immediately revealed during the segment that he had signed a full-time contract with WWE. The jacket worn by Rousey during this performance belonged to "Rowdy" Roddy Piper, given to him by his son. On February 25th in the payment room of the Elimination Chamber, Rousey engages in quarrels in the ring with Triple H and Stephanie McMahon, after which she signs her contract (in the story line), thus making it part of the Raw brand.
On March 5th episode Raw , it was announced that Rotteny's debut will take place at WrestleMania 34, WWE's main event; it was a mixed-tag team match with Kurt Angle as his partner, against Stephanie McMahon and Triple H. At the event, Rousey gave his team a victory by sending McMahon. His debut appearance was widely praised by fans and wrestling critics, with Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer noting that he "no one looked out of his element, he was crisp in every way", called his appearance "one better pro wrestling debut I've ever seen ". The Washington Post noted a positive fan reaction, stating "The game exceeded expectations, with fans strongly behind Rousey" and "[fans] were surprised at the high level of coordination and wrestling qualities. did not agree the game was entertaining. "
On May 14, it was revealed that after being challenged by Nia Jax Women's Raw Winner, the two will compete for a degree in Money in the Bank. At the event, he will win the game with disqualification through a distraction by Alexa Bliss, therefore does not win the title. For her first singles match and her title opportunity, she was once again praised by fans and critics for her performance, with CNET stating "For the first time, the main star [WWE] is a woman." They believe that although "the worry is that the game will expose Rousey's own experience, which will severely damage her aura and star power," she "comes as a tough and trustworthy star wrestler, a good match, but she's great." The next night at Raw, Rousey was suspended for 30 days (in kayfabe) after he attacked Bliss, Kurt Angle and some officials.
