The University of Arcadia is a private university located in Glenside, Pennsylvania, United States, on the outskirts of Philadelphia. A university master by Carnegie Classification, this university has a population of about 4,000 (undergraduate and postgraduate) co-educational students. The university is ranked 42nd in the Northern Regional University category by US. News & amp; World Report in 2017. The 76 acres (310,000 m 2 ) campus features Gray Towers Castle, the National Historic Landmark.

Histori
Arcadia University was founded in Beaver, Pennsylvania in 1853 as the Beaver Female Seminary . In 1872, he had attained college status, under the auspices of the Methodist Episcopal Church, and was named Beaver College . The school admitted to men from 1872 to 1907, then limited enrollment for women until 1972. In 1925, Beaver College moved east to Jenkintown, Pennsylvania and changed its religious affiliation to Presbyterian Church (USA). In 1928, the school acquired Harrison's plantation in Glenside, including Gray Towers Castle, the current campus location. The college operated the Jenkintown and Glenside campuses until 1962, when it consolidated all activities to the Glenside campus. Some significant changes occurred in 1973, when colleges launched the first graduate program and began to recognize men again. In July 2001, after reaching university status, Beaver College officially renamed the University of Arcadia.
Currently, Arcadia University operates on the main Glenside campus, in academic centers and offices around the world, and in Christiana, Delaware, where the University Medical Department opened its campus in 2006. From 2013 to 2017, the university is headed by Nicolette DeVille Christensen, Ph.D., who was appointed president of the 21st university on October 11, 2013. After the departure of Christianen Hank Brown was named the university's interim president in June 2017. In January 2018 the university announced on Wednesday. Ajay Nair as the next president.

Undergraduate program
The university offers over 80 undergraduate courses. Undergraduate majors are offered at the College of Arts & amp; Science, School of Health Sciences, School of Education, and Global Business School. There is also an option for students to propose a self-directed department, which may consist of courses offered at Glenside and through study abroad.
Graduate Program
Graduates and professional studies at the University of Arcadia are very diverse, ranging from liberal to professional arts, doctoral levels to workshops. The international perspective of Arcadia is reflected in programs such as an accelerated part-time MBA with the Global Perspective, the Master of Arts in International Peace and Conflict Resolution, and its Physical Therapy Doctoral program.
The Doctor of Physical Therapy Program, ranked second in Pennsylvania and 20 in the country by US. News & amp; World Report by 2016, providing international opportunities for pro bono work in locations such as England, Jamaica, Guatemala and Peru. In addition, there are clinical sites on offer throughout the country, especially in the mid-Atlantic region of the US.
The Arcadia's Master's program in Forensic Science is accredited by FEPAC, and the faculty is certified by the American Board of Criminalistics and the American Board of Forensic Toxicology.
International program
The university is famous for its overseas study program. In its 2016 Open Doors report, the International Institute of Education puts Arcadia No. 1 in this country for the percentage of undergraduate students participating in study abroad, experience at a masters-level college or university. This is the seventh year the university earned this top rank, and has been in the top ten since 2004. The 2014-15 data from Open Doors shows 800 students studying abroad that year, which - compared with a total of 482 students graduated - resulted in an estimated participation rate of 166%. In addition, 60 percent of first year students participate in overseas education experience during Spring break.
In addition to sending a high percentage of their own students abroad, the university runs a number of programs that are open to students from other universities. The College of Global Studies (TCGS), awarded college status in 2009, runs more than 130 programs, which serve students from over 300 universities each year. The TCGS program operates in Australia, Chile, Cuba, England, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, New Zealand, Scotland, South Africa, Spain and Wales.
In 2016, the College also offers classrooms and administrative services at Arcadia Centers Abroad, located on 9 sites: Athens, Barcelona, ââCape Town, Dublin, Edinburgh, Granada, London, Melbourne and Rome.
In 2014, Arcadia University held a strategic academic alliance with Global Pathways Institute (GPI) in Mumbai, India. The Alliance provides a pathway for students in India to begin their college careers in India and complete them at Arcadia University, or at other US universities.
In affiliation with the Graduate School of International Relations and American Diplomacy (AGSIRD), the University of Arcadia also offers a two-year Master's program in International Relations and Diplomacy, accredited by the Commission on Middle Countries on Higher Education and located in Paris.
In 2005, Arcadia University allied with IFSA-Butler to form the Alliance for Global Education. The Alliance for Global Education is still a growing organization, specializing in sending students to India, China, and other Asian countries.

The Arcadia University team competes in the NCAA Division III in the MAC Commonwealth Conference in the Middle Atlantic. Male sports teams include baseball, basketball, cross country, golf, lacrosse, soccer, swimming, tennis, and volleyball. Women's sports teams include basketball, cross country, field hockey, golf, lacrosse, soccer, softball, swimming, tennis, and volleyball.
