Facilities

ARMC is a regional hospital with 456 beds. Ninety of a total of 456 hospital beds are health behaviors and 366 hospital beds. The hospital building is nine miles from San Andreas and two miles from the active fault line San Jacinto, the new center is designed to remain self-contained for a minimum of three days after an 8.3 magnitude earthquake. This facility uses a combination of elastomeric base isolators and hydraulic viscous dampers (similar to those used in MX missile silos) to absorb the energy generated during seismic events and to protect the structural integrity of the building.

The emergency department is a tier II trauma center and consists of 15 observation rooms, 8 treatment rooms, 8 trauma rooms, and 3 law enforcement spaces. The hospital has a helicopter landing area, which is equipped to accommodate military helicopters and medivac. There is an outpatient building on the ARMC campus, which houses 109 examination rooms and 8 procedure rooms.

The Arrowhead Regional Health Center is the first facility in the US to use radiology without films throughout the hospital. The system creates digital images, which are instantly available for viewing at multiple stations throughout the facility for faster and more accurate diagnosis.
