Piper Lisa Perabo ( Ã, ( listen ) born October 31, 1976) is an American film and television actress. He is best known for playing CIA Agent Annie Walker in the Covert Affairs spy drama series, which runs on the USA Network for five seasons between 2010 and 2014, receiving a Golden Globe nomination. Since his breakthrough has starred in the role of Coyote Ugly (2000), Perabo has appeared in films such as Cheaper by the Dozen (2003), More Cheap by Dozen 2 > (2005), The Prestige (2006), and Looper (2012).

Perabo was born in Dallas, Texas, daughter of Mary Charlotte (nÃÆ' Â © e Ulland), a physical therapist, and George William Perabo, a professor of poetry at Ocean County College. He is of British, German, Irish (father) and Norwegian (mother) ancestry; while his family name is sometimes mistakenly portrayed as Portuguese, it originated in Italy and was first recorded in 1491 in Milan. Members of the Italian Perabo family emigrated to Germany, from which the paternal paternal family of Piper Perabo came. She grew up in Toms River, New Jersey.
Perabo's parents named him after actress Piper Laurie, though "Piper" was actually Laurie's stage name. He is the eldest of three children with two brothers, Noah (born 1979) and Adam (born 1981). He graduated from Toms River High School North in 1994, and earned his undergraduate degree in theater from Honors Tutorial College at Ohio University in 1998. He also studied Latin, physics, and poetry in his final year.
Perabo first noticed a year before he graduated from college. He was in New York City, visiting his girlfriend, and accompanying him to an audition. Casting director Denise Fitzgerald saw it and asked her to read some of it. He was not cast, but when Fitzgerald found out that he had no representation, he made a phone call on behalf of Perabo and found him as an agent.

After graduation, Perabo moved to New York, where he worked as a waitress. He also studied acting at La MaMa Experimental Theater Club and has a role in various dramas. She was cast in her first feature film just a month after moving to town, the Marc Levin comedy Whiteboyz . In 2000, he played in Coyote Ugly as Violet "Jersey" Sanford, where she won the MTV Movie Award for Best Musical Moment for "One Way or Another". After the success of Coyote Ugly , Perabo decided to move away from the blockbuster and focus on independent films.
