John Gallucci Jr. born March 1967, is a physical therapist/athletic trainer. John is the President and Founder of JAG Physical Therapy, a comprehensive, comprehensive orthopedic physical therapy company with locations throughout New Jersey. He currently serves as Medical Coordinator for Major League Soccer where he helps in the writing and implementation of medical policies and league procedures for over 600 professional football players across 18 MLS cities.
John has appeared as a medical expert at ESPN's Outside the Lines, MSG Varsity, Star-Ledger, and many other radio, television, newspaper and magazine stations. His charitable efforts have included a leading role in fundraising for Saint Barnabas Health Care System, The Valerie Fund, The LaConti Child Life Fund, Leukemia & amp; Lymphoma Society, and American Cancer Society. He supports more than 30 high school and college teams and athletic clubs. Careers
After graduating from Long Island University, Gallucci accepted a position as an athletic trainer at New York University, where he spent five years. During his time at NYU, Gallucci developed a long-term relationship with the New York Knicks player, Cal Ramsey. Through that relationship, he was offered a position to work with the New York Knicks as Medical Coordinator, where he was responsible for covering the summer youth franchise program under the supervision of New York Knicks Head Athletic Trainer Mike Saunders. He spent the next six years working for the franchise under the leadership of President Ernie Grunfeld and Vice President Ed Tapscott. During his time with the Knicks, Gallucci gained valuable experience in the NBA basketball world, working with John Starks, Allan Houston, Anthony Mason, Greg Anthony, Herb Williams, and Anthony Bonner, and others.
Gallucci's experience at the National Basketball Association made him a shoo-in at Columbia University as an athletic trainer for their basketball program under Clipper's current assistant Armond Hill, who was then the head coach of the Ivy League.
After leaving Columbia, Gallucci completed his Master and Doctorate in Physical Therapy and began serving as an Athletic Coach/Physical Therapist for many organizations including New York Red Bulls, Prudential Center, Lacrosse New Jersey Storm, New Jersey Pride Lacrosse, and New York Club Athletic Wrestling.
At the Red Bulls, he works hand in hand with United States National Soccer Team Coach Bob Bradley to keep players like Tim Howard, Tab Ramos, Tony Meola, Michael Bradley, Clint Mathis, Daniel Hernandez and John Wolyniec on the pitch and at the top of their game. She helps with medical coordination at New Jersey's Prudential Center, where she has overseen the care of Britney Spears, Spice Girls, The Black Eyed Peas, Katy Perry, Usher, Keith Urban, Taylor Swift, R. Kelly and Cirque du Soleil , making it a resource for the Northeast Corridor as a "Rock Doc".
Along with his work in sports and entertainment, Gallucci has consulted on injury prevention for major companies such as UPS, Continental Airlines, Delta, and Calandra Enterprises. He also served as Director at the Medical Center of Saint Barnabas, now known as Barnabas Health. Gallucci's experience has taken him worldwide to treat various patients and athletes, as well as some of the richest people of the United States, sitting on the list of Forbes and Forbes 400 billionaires.
Gallucci currently serves as the Major League Soccer Medical Coordinator, a professional football league based in the United States and approved by the United States Football Federation (US Soccer). The league consists of 18 teams, 16 in the US, and two in Canada. MLS represents the top levels of the American and Canadian pyramid of football, featuring world-renowned superstars David Beckham, Landon Donovan, Thierry Henry and Rafael MÃÆ'árquez. John's experience and knowledge helps in the writing and implementation of league medical policies and procedures for more than 600 professional athletes across 18 MLS cities. John, along with all JAG Physical Therapy staff, pioneered Valerie Fund Walk & amp; JAG 5K Physical Therapy Run to provide support for the health care of children complete with cancer and blood disorders. The Valerie Children's Fund Center consists of the largest network of health care facilities for children with cancer and blood disorders in New Jersey, and one of the largest in the country. The book covers several topics on how to prevent injuries that include but are not limited to: treating over thirty general soccer injuries, identifying concussions and knowing when it is safe to return to play, understanding and preventing frequent injuries to young athletes, creating plans nutrients for energy and strength, and builds resilience, flexibility, and strength while protecting your body from harm.
