AntÃÆ'Ã'nio Carlos Silva (born September 14, 1979) is a mixed professional Brazilian martial artist and kickboxer competing in the Heavyweight division. As a professional MMA competitor since 2005, he has competed for UFC, Strikeforce, EliteXC, Cage Rage, Fight Nights Global, World Victory Road, K-1 HERO'S, and Cage Warriors. He is a former EliteXC Heavyweight Champion, Cage Rage World Heavyweight Champion, and Cage Warriors Super Heavyweight Champion.

Club affiliation
Silva began his career with the MMA Wolfslair Academy in England in 2005. In 2006, after his fight with Tadas Rimkevicius, Wolfslair asked (to instructor Silva Mario Neto) that Silva left the team and returned to Brazil. Gym claims Silva owes more than £ 20,000; However, Silva stated that he owed him £ 6,000 in a combat wallet for two fights, in which he was promised each 3,000 pounds. After training with Brazil's Main Team during the dispute, Silva joins the American Main Team at Coconut Creek, Florida. Initial career
Silva made his professional debut in England against Georgia fighter Tengiz Tedoradze, who will become heavyweight heavyweight British Cage Rage two years later. Silva was impressive in his debut, winning by TKO just 48 seconds in the fight. In the ensuing battle, Silva makes his Cage Warriors debut and wins again through a strike after his opponent filed.
Silva then made her Cage Rage debut and became Kage Rage World Heavyweight Champion after defeating her opponent through TKO. Silva then returns to Cage Warriors to fight Old Ruben veterans "Warpath" Villareal for the Cage Warriors Super Heavyweight Championship and win again through TKO, and becomes Cage Warriors Super Heavyweight Champion. Silva followed this with a knockout victory over the Lithuanian Tadas Rimkevicius fighters before making his Japanese debut for the K-1 Hero. In his debut for the organization, he defeated old veteran Tom Erikson through TKO and then won his next bout with a knockout.
It brings Silva's record to 7-0 unbeaten with all his victory coming TKO/KO in the first round. Silva faces Eric Pele in his first and only bout with the promotion of BodogFIGHT and lost his first career with a controversial TKO.
EliteXC
On February 10, 2007, Silva made his EliteXC debut at EliteXC: Destiny, against UFC veteran Wesley Correira. Silva was won by TKO due to a strike in the first half.
Silva was originally scheduled to fight in Dynamite !! US card as EliteXC representative. He had to face Jonathan Wiezorek, but the California State Athletics Commission (CSAC) found benign tumors in his pituitary gland in his pre-war medicine and refused permission to the fighter. As a result, Silva underwent brain surgery that summer to have her tumor removed.
After the exposure, Silva finally faces Jonathan Wiezorek at EliteXC: Renegade in November 2007. He won the battle by poking his naked neck in the first half. The next victory came with a separate decision (28-29, 29-28, and 30-27) over former UFC heavyweight champion Ricco Rodriguez.
On July 26, 2008, Silva won the EliteXC Elite Class Championship, with a second round TKO win over UFC veteran Justin Eilers. Silva was then tested positive for anabolic steroid Boldenone, and suspended for one year and fined $ 2,500 by the California State Athletics Commission. According to Silva manager Alex Davis, this positive test is caused by the use of Novedex by Silva, a testosterone booster that he uses to increase his low testosterone levels (acromegaly symptoms). Sengoku
Soon after, Silva signed to fight at the World Victory Road Presents: Sengoku no Ran 2009. He was advised not to fight in Japan by the California State Athletics Commission. She ignores this suggestion, and continues to claim that she does not use steroids. On January 4, 2009, he beat Yoshihiro "KISS" Nakao by TKO when Nakao suffered a knee injury in the first round.
In Sengoku 10 he fought Jim York, winning with surrender in the first half. With both fighters looking tentative on foot, Silva takes York down once, but stands by the referee. Later in the round, he lowered York again, assuming a half-guard position and landed an effective hammer and blow, before moving into a triangular choking arm from a side-control position to secure victory.
Strikeforce
On November 7, 2009, Silva suffered a second loss in his career, losing his decision to FabrÃÆ'cio Werdum at Strikeforce: Fedor vs. Rogers. After dominating the first half, Silva broke his left hand early in the second half.
Silva defeated former UFC Heavyweight Champion Andrei Arlovski on May 15, 2010, at Strikeforce: Heavy Artillery, through a decision.
He was scheduled to face Valentijn Overeem on 4 December, but Overeem suffered an injury and withdrew from the fight. He was replaced by Mike Kyle. Kyle knocked out Silva in the first half with a punch, but Silva survived Kyle's ground and pound and recovered. In the second half, Silva climbed Kyle and forced the TKO with a stroke.
Silva defeated Fedor Emelianenko in the World Strikeforce World Heavyweight quarterfinal round of the year, through a doctor's blockage between the second and third rounds. He is expected to meet Alistair Overeem in the semi-finals, but Overeem withdraws from the fight with injury. He was replaced by one of the alternate tournaments, Daniel Cormier. Cormier hit Silva with a hard blow at 3:56 round 1.
Ultimate Fighting Championship
On January 7, 2012, AntÃÆ'Ã'nio Rodrigo Nogueira said "Portal do Vale Tudo" Silva has signed a UFC contract. Silva is scheduled to debut against Roy Nelson on May 26, 2012 at UFC 146, but was rescheduled to face Cain Velasquez instead. Velasquez beat Silva by TKO in the first round.
Silva faces Travis Browne on 5 October 2012 at UFC in FX 5. At the start of the fight, Browne injured his hamstring, restricting his movement. Silva takes advantage of Browne's limited mobility by supporting him against the enclosure. After the big right sent Browne to the canvas, Silva finished him off with a ground attack for a first-round TKO victory.
Silva next faces Alistair Overeem on 2 February 2013 at UFC 156. Leading the fight, Overeem ignores Silva's skills, claiming that he is better than his opponent in every aspect of MMA. Despite being a significant underdog and losing in the first and second round, Silva won the fight through a knockout in the third round. The victory also gave Silva his first honor. Silva faces Cain Velasquez in a rematch for the UFC Heavyweight Championship on May 25, 2013 at UFC 160. Silva was rocked with his right hand at the start of the fight and finished again via TKO in the first half.
Silva faces Mark Hunt on December 7, 2013 at UFC Fight Night 33 at the main event. It was a back-and-forth affair that saw the two men trade in profits over five full laps. The end result is the majority draw (48-47 Hunt, 47-47, and 47-47). After the fight, Dana White said the fight won the Fight of the Night and, despite the draw, both men would receive their winning bonus. Silva lost her winning money and $ 50,000 bonus Fight of the Night for Hunt after failing a post-fights test for increased testosterone (she had been undergoing UFC-approved testosterone replacement therapy). He was suspended for nine months, retroactively on the date of the fight.
Silva faces Andrei Arlovski in a rematch on 13 September 2014 at UFC Fight Night 51. He lost the fight through a knockout in the first round. Silva confronts Soa Palelei on 1 August 2015 at UFC 190. She won the battle with TKO in the second round.
The rematch with Mark Hunt took place on 15 November 2015 at UFC 193. Silva lost the battle through TKO in the first round.
Silva next faces Stefan Struve on May 8, 2016 at UFC Fight Night 87. Silva lost the fight through a knockout in the first half as she was stunned by a right hook in the chin followed by knees to the body and a few elbows to the side from her head.
Silva against Roy Nelson on September 24, 2016 at UFC Fight Night 95. He lost the battle with a knockout in the second round. Furthermore, he was released from UFC.
Kickboxing
In August 2017 Silva signed with Glory Kickboxing, and made his debut against Rico Verhoeven at Glory 46 on October 14, 2017 in Guangzhou, China. After being dominated by the number one heavyweight kickboxer at the time, Silva was dropped by a headkick in the second half. The referee stopped the game less than a minute later formally commanding the winning TKO match for Verhoeven.

AntÃÆ'Ã'nio Silva is married to Paula Aranha. Antonio Bigfoot Silva has two daughters, Anne and Aysha. He and his wife live in Deerfield Beach, Florida.
