Rocky Mountain Health Profession Profession is a regional accredited institution established in 1998 as an exclusive provider of postgraduate health education. Located in Provo, Utah, RMUoHP is nationally recognized for rigorous, evidence-based, health education programs, high-caliber faculty, and a diverse network of students and alumni.
The RMUoHP student body represents all 50 states and offers residency and residential residency programs. The limited-residency academic model allows students to continue to fulfill their professional and family obligations while obtaining their postgraduate education.

Histori
Rocky Mountain University's Profession Health Profession Profession was founded in 1998 by Dr. Richard P. Nielsen and Dr. Michael Skurja Jr. as an exclusive post-graduate healthcare institution. While early in the morning, Dr. Richard P. Nielsen had the idea to establish a postgraduate health university in Provo, Utah. Nielsen and Skurja, both certified electrophysiologists, have established the Institute for Clinical Electrophysiology in 1993, and have been involved in the development of continuing education programs for several years. They dream of incorporating all the curricula they have developed into the Electrophysiology Doctor program, but the Institute is not authorized to grant degrees, only certificates. Nielsen and Skurja began the process of obtaining authorization from the State Council of Utah, and on June 8, 1998, the Institute of Clinical Electrophysiology officially became the Rocky Mountain Physical Therapy University and began offering Physical Therapy Doctoral (DPT) programs with seven specialized concentrations, including cardiopulmonology, electrophysiology, geriatrics , neurology, orthopedics, sports, and pediatrics. RMUoHP is the first post-professional doctor to provide a Physical Therapy Institute in the United States.
The following year, in 1999, the official instruction began with ten faculties, six employees, and eight students in the first grade. Ninety students enrolled in the first year. In December 2000, Rocky Mountain University of Physical Therapy was listed as a developing institution with the Northwest Commission College and the University for regional accreditation. In the same year, RMUoHP began offering Master of Science in Physical Therapy Program and the university name was changed to Rocky Mountain Health Profession Profession (RMUoHP).
In 2003 RMUoHP has added the country's first post-professional Occupational Therapy Doctor (OTD) program. The university gained regional accreditation nomination status in November 2005 and added the Nursing Doctorate program (DNP) the following year, in 2006, one of the first in the country. RMUoHP also expanded its OTD program to include a special track, and began offering the Doctor of Science program in Health Sciences in 2007.
In May 2010 RMUoP began offering a Physical Therapy Doctorate degree of residency, and became the first graduate institution in the NW region to gain accreditation by the Commission on Commissions and the University of Northwest.
In 2014 RMUoHP began offering the Doctor of Clinical Science model in the first Speech Language Pathology field. The following year RMUoHP has also added Master of Physician Assistant Studies at beginner level, and in 2016 the post-graduate Doctor of Nursing (FNP) practice program, as well as Master of Science in Speech Language Pathology program with a medical emphasis in 2017. RMUoHP is wrong a pioneering institute for Speech Language Pathology with medical emphasis.

In 2018, the Wasatch Educational Group, the holding company of the Rocky Mountain University Profession Health Profession, announced plans to start a medical school, which opens in 2021.

Rocky Mountain Health Profession Profession Profession is located in Provo, Utah, at East Bay Technology Park. The RMUoHP campus is 85,000 square feet, and sits at an altitude of 4,551 feet (1387 m). Resource Center on Site
Learning Resources Center RMUoHP offers a variety of onsite and online resources for RMUoHP community members. LRC is open during the day and provides individual and group study space, as well as wifi and printing capabilities for students. LRC also offers extensive and extensive online access to students and faculty for publications, textbooks, and other resources for classroom work and research.
Writing Center
The University's Writing Center offers free one-on-one and group writing guidance for the RMUoHP community with all types of writing needs. The Writing Center helps students and faculty from the brainstorming stage of the student headstock through final editing of the manuscript for publication. The Writing Center is available to all RMUoHP faculty, students and staff.
Parking and Public Transport
RMUoHP provides free parking for students, faculty, staff and administration. The Utah Transit Authority (UTA) provides bus and train services to the area.
Housing
All student housing is off-campus and generally includes apartments and homes for students and hotel residences for non-residential students. RMUoHP does not own, operate, or maintain housing facilities for students. Student Services at RMUoHP can provide additional resources to help students find housing.

Philanthropy
Philanthropy is an integral part of the RMUoHP education model. The University offers an elective course, entitled "Course Learning Service," which allows students to earn school credits for hours spent voluntarily. In addition, the university encourages its faculty to spend 20% of their time each week working in volunteer or research capacity. RMUoHP President Richard Nielsen treats his own patients three times a week a week at RMUoHP's pro-bono Community Rehabilitation Clinic.
Foundation RMUoHP
The mission of the Rocky Mountain University Health Foundation (RMU Foundation) Foundation is dedicated to providing an environment that encourages and supports student and faculty research. The mission of the foundation is "to advance the quality and accessibility of health care." The mission has three main goals:
- Serve the community through the Community Rehabilitation Clinic and other strategic initiatives.
- Foster and student research sponsor and faculty in areas related to health care.
- Collaborate with organizations that share this mission.
Learning Resources Center
RMUoHP Foundation provides the RMUoHP Learning Resources Center (LRC) with materials to assist students in their health science education as well as faculty and staff research. The LRC provides access to articles and journals, books, dissertations, and tombstones, in addition to database and research help. Annual funding is directed to journal software, databases, electronic connections, and expansion efforts.
African Humanitarian Mission
The African Mission of Humanity was created in partnership with World of Difference in 2013 to help build a sustainable community in Africa and give African children opportunities for a better life. The RMUoHP community participates in missions in two key areas: education and health. Over the past five years, RMUoHP students and staff have served the needy population in Kenya by building schools, training teachers, donating school supplies, and providing free health care at local clinics.
In 2016, the Mission donated more than 18,000 hours of service and packed and delivered 3,500 pounds of educational materials, medical supplies and athletic equipment including 52 soccer balls, equipment, blankets, first aid supplies, and hygiene kits. More than 500 pounds of medical textbooks were donated to hospitals in Lilongwe and Blantyre, Malawi. Since the beginning of the program, the African Humanitarian Mission and World of Difference have built 12 schools in Africa.
Community Rehabilitation Clinic
The Community Rehabilitation Clinic (CRC) is the first pro-bono clinic in Utah County. Opened in 2014 by Rocky Mountain University Health Profession Profession to serve uninsured and underserved Utah citizens with orthopedic injuries, have undergone surgical correction for orthopedic disorders, or require treatment of rehabilitation therapy due to age or disability. The clinic is built using nearly $ 100,000 of community donations and is committed to maintaining a free clinic where everyone can access high-quality care.
The clinic is located in Provo, Utah, and treats most patients with physical therapy needs. This staff consists of qualified and qualified rehabilitation therapy practitioners who are assisted by RMUoHP Physical Therapy Physicians. RMUoHP Center for Communication Disorders
In 2017, the RMUoHP Foundation announced plans for the RMUoHP Center for Communication Disorders (CCD). The ribbon-cutting ceremony is June 15, 2018. This new philanthropic arm assesses and treats community members with speech-language pathology needs, including speech, language, voice and resonance, fluency, aural rehabilitation, social communication, augmentative and alternative communication, and swallowing. This clinic serves babies through geriatrics for free.
Clients are seen by graduate students in the Master of Science RMUoHP in the Speech Language Pathology program which is supervised by certified and certified speech-certified pathologists. In addition, CCD operates several programs outside the clinic working with communities, including adult literacy programs through Project Read in the Provo Library, and early literacy programs with the Early Head Start program in Orem, Utah.
Research
The RMUoHP Foundation provides funding and support for research students and faculty in the field of health sciences. Current research efforts of lecturers and students include projects related to clinical development, education, and clinical interventions. The RMUoHP Faculty is involved in research designed to improve cultural competence and examine the prevalence of evidence-based practice among recent alumni of RMUoHP. Other faculties seek to improve clinical placement by examining the motivation of clinical education. The university is involved in interprofessional education where students from different disciplines collaborate to treat cases, and faculty evaluate the effectiveness of these new interventions. Universities have invested in exciting technologies to improve clinical intervention research. For example, the MS in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) program is invested in endoscopes with high loyalty recording capabilities that distinguish itself from similar programs. Other faculties are involved in various stages of research on disorders such as aphasia, dyslexia, and autistic spectrum disorders.
To foster a constant learning atmosphere and give back to the profession, RMUOHP encourages its faculty members to spend 20% of every working week in research or philanthropic capacity.
Research Office and Sponsored Project
In August 2017, RMUoHP established the Research Office and Sponsorship Project (ORSP). The goal of ORSP is to remove barriers for faculty and students to conduct innovative research that will increase knowledge and provide evidence for better clinical practice. In 2018, RMUoPP launched and funded an internal grant worth $ 19,960 to faculty involved in various studies, and 17 scientific articles indexed on PubMed. Since the commencement of RMUoHP, more than 800 student and faculty articles have been referred to have been published.
