LauraMaery Gold (born 1959) is an American author and marriage and family therapist who records many of his published works on subjects related to family functioning. He is the founder and director of the AiKi Relationship Training Institute, an organization devoted to educating couples and families in building emotional intimacy. He has been widely publicized in areas such as marital communication, children's education, personal technology, religion, and family financial planning. Some of his books have been translated into various languages. He has been a guest on various radio and television programs, including Neil Cavuto Your Your World.

He started his writing career in high school as a columnist in the Kent (Washington) News Journal. During college he was a religious editor and business editor at Provo, Utah Daily Herald. He is a freelance writer for China Economic News, and is the bureau chief and editor for numerous technology publications across Asia. He is the editor-in-chief of several Asian editions of PC World magazine, Computerworld, and MacWorld.
His first published book, The Complete Idiot's Guide to Excel (co-written with Dan Post), was published in 1995. Since then, he has written over a dozen books on family and consumer topics.
Counseling
His therapeutic work began in the mid-1980s with clients seeking financial counseling through university counseling centers. He then advised low-income clients through the Community Action Agency, mediating business disputes with the Better Business Bureau, and advising delegates to youth programs run through the YMCA in Utah and the Pacific Northwest. He does extensive volunteer work with various non-profit organizations, including the Recovery Assistance Line at the Seattle Crisis Clinic.
He then entered private practice with Allied Family Therapy, a marriage and family counseling clinic based in Renton, Washington. In 2015 he founded the AiKi Relationship Training Institute, an organization that uses martial arts metaphors to teach better communication to partners, groups and clients of companies and organizations.
