Florida Hospital Lake Placid , located north of Lake Placid, Florida, serves Southern Highlands County, Florida. It is on the west side of US Highway 27; the street address is: 1210 US 27 North, Lake Placid, Florida 33852. All locations of Florida Hospitals are part of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. The Lake Placid Health Care Center is located to the west of hospitals and hospital properties bordered on the southwest by the pension housing community of Tomoka Heights.

Histori
The hospital opened in 1982, offering only emergency and outpatient services. In 1989 inpatient services were added. A very small intensive care unit is added and the in-patient mental health unit is added. In 2000 a new wing was added to the home of a larger intensive care unit with ten beds. In 2001 the front of the hospital was rebuilt and a new emergency unit was built, extending its capacity to ten beds and triage chambers.

The main hospital building has a wide range of outpatient services, such as laboratories, radiology rooms, surgery and physical therapy centers. Laboratories, departments of physical therapy and radiology also serve inpatients. Inpatient services include general medical units, intensive care units and mental health units of inpatients. The mental health unit has seventeen beds, but it can be expanded to load eighteen beds when the first seventeen are occupied. The hospital also has an emergency department.
To the north of the hospital is the Fitness Center, at 140 Health Road. The Fitness Center provides an environment where members can exercise with a variety of sports equipment.
