Hachetepe University is a major public university in Ankara, Turkey. Based on academic achievement, the first rank among Turkish universities with medical schools.

The university has two main campuses. The first campus is located in the old city of Ankara and hosts the Medical Center, and secondly, Beytepe Campus is 13 km (8 mi) from the city center. Beytepe campus covers 6,000,000 m 2 (600 ha; 1,483 hectares) of greenland and forest, and hosts faculty of Economics and Administration, Law, Education, Engineering, Visual Arts, Letters, and Science. In addition to these two main campuses, the School of Social Work is located in KeÃÆ'§iÃÆ'¶ren, and the Turkish State Conservatory in Ankara, affiliated with the University in 1982, is located in Be? Evler Campus.

General information

History

The history of Hacettepe University can be traced back to the establishment of the Institute of Child Health on 8 July 1958, and the inauguration of Hacettepe Children's Hospital founded by Prof. Dr.? Hsan Do? Ramac? In 1961, the School of Health Sciences and the Division of Nursing, Medical Technology, Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation and Nutrition opened, all centered on the Institute of Child Health.

On June 15, 1963, Hacettepe University, Faculty of Medicine was established and a public education hospital was built. Three months later, Hacettepe University School of Dentistry was founded.

In the summer of 1964, the School of Science was opened, offering courses in natural sciences, social sciences and humanities. At that time, all Hacettepe teaching institutions were affiliated with Ankara University and grouped under the heading "Hacettepe Science Center".

Hacettepe University was hired through Law no. 892 Turkish Parliament on July 8, 1967. The Hacettepe Higher Education Institute forms the core of Hacettepe University, and the Faculty of Science, Science and Engineering, as well as the Social and Administrative sciences was founded.

In 1969, Hacettepe School of Pharmacy and Health Administration was established. In 1971 with reorganization, former schools were given faculty status and thus they became the Faculty of Dentistry, the Faculty of Engineering, the Faculty of Pharmacy and the Faculty of Science. In 1973, the School of Technology was founded. In 982, previous faculties were reorganized as the Faculty of Letters, the Faculty of Education, the Faculty of Fine Arts, the Faculty of Economics and Administration, and the Conservatory of State affiliated with Hachetepe University. In 1984, the School of Health Services and in 1989 the School of Sports Science and Technology was founded. Recently in 1998, two Polatli; Vocational Schools and Vocational Schools of Kaman have been established.

Official Seal

The University's symbol was designed in 1967 by Dr. YÃÆ'¼cel Tanyeri, who later became a second-year medical student, in the form of a stag - the symbol of the Hittite god found in the royal tomb in AlacahÃÆ'¶yÃÆ'¼k. Inspired by the common archaeological symbols in the region, Stag was chosen as a University symbol, and abstracted to represent the lower case "h" - the first letter of the university's name. [1]

Ratings

In 2018 US News Global University Rankings, Hacettepe University ranks first in Turkey and 208 globally, in clinical medicine. In 2010, University Rankings by Academic Performance (URAP) placed the world's 399 Hacettepe University and the best universities in Turkey. In the ranking of QS University 2010 its rank is 285 in the field of life sciences and medicine. In SCImagoir 2010, the ranking is ranked 354 worldwide, 114 in Western Europe, ranked first in Turkey and 122 worldwide in the field of Health Sciences. The local Hacettepe University Medical School is ranked the best in the country. Based on the minimum score required to enroll in medical school, Hacettepe University holds the top position among public schools for more than a decade.

Campus

Campus Utama - Medical Center

The main campus is located in S? Hhiye, Ankara. On this campus, the following lies: Faculty of Dentistry, Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy, Institute of Child Health, Health Sciences, Neurology, Oncology, Public Health and Population Studies, and School of Health Administration, HeaIth Technology, Home Economics, Nursing, Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation and Health Services, Teaching Hospital (Adult Hospital, Icsan Dogramaci Children's Hospital and Oncology Hospital), biomedical library, biomedical research unit, student dormitories, sports and recreation centers and clubs.

Beytepe Campus

The campus is located in Beytepe. Faculty of Economics and Administration, Education, Engineering, Art, Literature and Natural Sciences, Modern History Institute of Turkey, Natural Sciences, Nuclear Science and Social Sciences and Foreign Language Schools, and Vocational Schools of Technology, School of Sport Science and Technology, and administrative offices, libraries, student dormitories, sports and recreation centers are located on this campus.

Hacettepe University currently has thirteen faculties, eight vocational schools, one conservatory, thirteen institutes and forty one research centers. Hacettepe University is a state university supported mainly by state funds allocated by the Turkish Parliament. More than 150 different undergraduate courses are offered and there are also over 200 different degree programs for postgraduate studies. The University has approximately 49582 students enrolled for undergraduate studies and 3,279 academic staff.

Beytepe Campus also has a large artificial forest, where different sporting activities such as trekking, mountain biking, running can be done and are ideal for other recreational activities.

The Faculty of Letters was established as the Faculty of Science and Humanity in 1967, inaugurated between 1968-1969 and divided into the Faculty of Letters and the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences on July 20, 1982. The Faculty of Letters has the highest student population of the University and has 15 academic units. It is located in Beytepe Campus, Ankara. The faculty has published the Eddie Fiblical Facility since 1983. The journal is published twice a year. It contains news and innovation of the humanities together with essays by Turkish and international writers.
